Produced by Bodegas Protos, the grapes were harvested fully ripen, selected in the vineyard and brought to the cellar, where they underwent another selection process.
Then they were macerated and fermented at a temperature between 28ºC and 30ºC for 24 days with daily pump-overs and punch-downs.
After that, Protos Reserva from Peñafiel was transferred into 50% new French oak barrels, 30% 2nd year French oak barrels and 20% 2nd year American oak barrels, where it was aged for over a period of 18 months.
Clarified and filtered before its bottling, this red wine from Ribera del Duero spent a further 24 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

The Spanish red wine Protos Reserva has a clean, bright, claret colour with a violet rim.
Complex and intrincate, this varietal Tinta del País suggests notes of black fruit mingled with remembrances of vanilla, clove, cinnamon and roasted coffee. Some hints of liquor-infused fruit, menthol and smoke over a mineral background complete the picture.
Bold and elegant, this reserve red wine by Bodegas Protos is information-rich, exhibiting subtle notions of red and black fruit fused with the notes of vanilla, tobacco and balsam coming from the oak ageing. Velvety tannins and well-balanced acidity. Intense, pleasant finish.
