Product Description

This is the new vintage of PSI, one of the wines produced by the Ribera del Duero-based Dane winemaker Peter Sisseck.

The 2017 of this Spanish red wine was extremely difficult, because a series of April frosts destroyed a substantial part of the grapes. The ones that survived, though, were of excellent quality.

Truly a mosaic of terroir, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was produced from grapes coming from 841 different plots. The final composition was 93% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 7% Grenache.

The grapes were hand-picked, destemmed, macerated, and fermented in concrete diposits. After that, PSI 2017 was transferred into French oak barrels and vats which had been previously used to age Mr. Sisseck's top wines, Pingus and Flor de Pingus. There, the wine was aged for 18 months. The lees were extracted one month before the wine was bottled. Apart from that, this Crianza red wine was not filtered or clarified.

Aerate 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine PSI has a bright cherry colour with some garnet tinges.

Intens and complex, the Crianza wine PSI conveys black fruit, with nuances of cherries and plums. As it opens, some spicy notes, as well as some floral and toasted remembrances come to the fore. There is also an earthy background, and a balsamic note.

The exceptional craftmanship of Peter Sisseck clearly shows here. Remarkable balance between fruit and oak, great freshness, top-notch acidity and bridled tannins. This wine of Dominio de Pingus has a long finish, with some mineral and spicy remembrances.

Our personal opinion

Elegant, complex and gentle, PSI 2017 is a wine produced by a master winemaker at the top of his game.
