Details

An homage to the founder of Caves Nadal, Ramon Nadal Giró is made from a blend of Xarel.lo and Parellada, coming from old vines located in the heart of Penedès.

Alcoholic fermentation of this Spanish sparkling wine took place in stainless steel tanks.

After that, this Cava Gran Reserva Brut was blended and bottled, after which it completed secondary fermentation.

Finally, Ramon Nadal Giró Brut Gran Reserva 2011 was aged for a minimum of 48 months in the winery's underground cellar.

Drink this Cava over the next 5 years.

Production of only 6,010 bottles.

Appearance

The Cava Ramon Nadal Giró Brut Gran Reserva has a clean, transparent yellow colour with some golden tinges.

Nose

This blend of Xarel·lo and Parellada is elegantly complex. Loads of ripe white fruit, alongside citrus, white flowers and herbs. On the background, Nadal Giró suggests some remembrances of honey, with lactic touches and some toasted and smokey remembrances.

Palate

The Cava RNG Brut has a suave, enticing entrance onto the palate. Suggestions of lemon, undergrowth and grapefruit, over a creamy layer of butter and pastry, with dim remembrances of almonds and hazelnuts. Smooth-textured, this sparkler by Caves Nadal has a delicate mousse, great freshness and a long, rich finish.

Our personal opinion

Elegant and masterly crafted, Ramon Nadal Giró Brut Gran Reserva 2011 is a great celebration wine.

Impressive Cava
Value
I admit I was taken aback by this wine. I was expecting a rather sketchy bubbly, and all of a sudden I found a very precise Cava, with sharp edges and a remarkable texture. 5 stars.

Top level Cava that deserves to be better known. For me it is a 17/20 wine.
