Several things make Raventós i Blanc Textures de Pedra an extremely interesting Spanish sparkling wine. Produced in the area known as Conca de l'Anoia, this Blanc de Noirs is made from a combination of grape varieties which is simply unique.
Indeed, this organic sparkling wine of the Raventós i Blanc winery is a blend of 50% Xarel·lo Vermell, a pink-skinned mutation of the Xarel·lo variety, 25% Bastard Negre, a little-known native variety probably related to Bastardo Nero, from Sardinia, and to the well-known Graciano from La Rioja, and 25% Sumoll, a high-acidic grape.
All of the grapes come from Vinya Més Alta, a single vineyard of sandy-limestone soils planted with grapevines 20 to 50 years old, respectfully grown following the guidelines of organic and biodynamic farming.
Harvested by hand, the grape bunches were delicately pressed and drawn-off at a low temperature. Each variety and each individual plot were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks for a period of 9 to 15 days. Then Raventós i Blanc Textures de Pedra 2016 was bottled. After the completion of secondary fermentation, this Blanc de Noirs was aged for a minimum of 48 months before its commercial release.

The sparkling wine Raventós i Blanc Textures de Pedra presenta has an ochreish colour with some golden glints.
As original as its composition suggests, this blend of Xarel·lo Vermell, Bastard Negre and Sumoll smells of nuts, apricots, cranberries and lemon pie, with hints of aromatic herbs and flowers over a mineral background.
This sparkling wine of Raventós i Blanc has grip, definition and texture. Smooth mousse and great freshness, with a mineral-saline note, a citrusy tip and a long, complex finish. Very appealing.
