Cava Recaredo Terrers Magnum Brut Nature 2013
Availability: Out of stock
Now including the word "Terrers" (meaning both "soil" and "terroir", in catalan), Recaredo Terrers Mágnum has changed its name with respect to previous vintages.
All of them, though, have a high calcareous content, a feature that brings a distinctive sharpness and minerality to the Recaredo Cavas.
Moreover, all of the estates belonging to the Recaredo winery are farmed following the guidelines of organic and biodynamic agriculture (Recaredo is a Demeter certified winery.)
Traditionally crafted following the Champenoise method, the grapes were separately vinified before the final blend was decided.
Before making the blend, about 4% of the wines chosen had been aged for a short period in oak barrels. Then the wine was bottled to complete secondary fermentation. After that, it was aged in the cellar for a minimum of 45 months.
Finally, this Cava was manually disgorged. No sugar was added after that operation. The date of disgorging is printed on the back label.
Drink this organic Spanish sparkling wine from now until 2025.
Open the bottle 30 minutes before drinking.
The Cava Recaredo Terrers Magnum Brut Nature has a very bright, clean straw yellow colour with some golden tinges.
Delicately complex, this Cava in a Magnum bottle exhibits some nuanced aromas of ripe white fruit, white roses, jasmine, citrus and dry fruit. The brief oak ageing shows in some hints of butter, patisserie and smoke. Finally, we perceive some remembrances of white mineral and some earthy hints.
Gentle and savoury, this Gran Reserve Brut Nature Cava from Penedès has some creamy, palate-caressing bubbles and a silky body. Suggestions of citrus, white flowers, petals of white roses, toasted almonds, hazelnuts, aromatic herbs and pastry. Long, linear, pleasant finish.
