Product Description

Produced by Josep Grau through his company Josep Grau Viticultor, Regina is an atypical, hugely interesting Spanish rosé wine.

The wine is made from a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% White Grenache. Both come from 90-year-old, organically farmed vines planted within a 1 hectare estate at the heart of Montsant.

All of the farming procedures were performed manually, from harvesting to bottling and labeling. Spontaneous fermentation took place in 600-litre Austro-German oak barrels using indigenous yeasts. Then, the wine was aged on its lees for 8 months.

Going beyond the low-profile, light-hearted rosé wines that dominate the market, Regina 2018 sets a new paradigm for Catalan rosé wines with its rewarding complexity.

Production of this Crianza rosé wine is under 1,000 bottles.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The rosé wine Regina has a clean, bright copper-colour with some rosy tinges.

Complex and intriguing, this blend of Red Grenache and White Grenache conveys some aromas of fresh and withered roses, aromatic herbs, white and yellow fruit, lavender, garrigue and sweet spices.

Smooth and creamy, this rosé wine by Josep Grau has a luxurious texture and a very good acidity. This wine from Montsant delights the palate with remembrances of fruit, flowers and spices, delicately punctuated by some earthy and spicy intimations. Long, refreshing finish with some bitter remembrances.

Our personal opinion

If Spain had 5 more rosé wines like this, I'd rarely drink Provence rosés. This is simply phantastic. The smell, the flavours, the acidity... Everything!!
