We definitely have a soft spot for Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet, for this varietal Spanish red wine that is one of the purest expressions of the Trepat grape available on the market.
Sourced from certified organic vineyards around 50 years old grown in clay-limestone soils, the grapes were hand-harvested, fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
After that, this red wine from Conca de Barberà was aged for 6 months in clay amphorae and concrete eggs.
Finally, Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet 2020 was bottled and aged for a further months before hitting the market.
This varietal organic red wine is totally indigenous and nicely unpretentious. It also has moderate ABV (12%).
The red wine Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet is medium ruby with a purplish rim.
This varietal Trepat is seductive and quite original, with aromas of white and black pepper, sour red berries and hints of fennel, garrigue and red flowers.
This wine of bodega Rendé Masdéu is taut, saline and linear, with white pepper, crunchy red fruit, an electric acidity and slim tannins, giving way to a medium-long, gently earthy finish.

The red wine Rendé Masdéu Trepat del Jordiet 2020 is refreshingly unconventional.
