Red Wine Roda Reserva 2015
Availability: In stock
A blend of 90% Tempranillo, 7% Graciano and 3% Grenache, Roda Reserva is produced from low-yielding, over 30-year-old grapevines located on the outskirts of Haro. The 2015 vintage was considered "Very Good" by the Rioja regulatory board.
Crafted by Bodegas Roda, this classic Spanish red wine from La Rioja was fermented in French wooden vats at a controlled temperature. After that, malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels.
Then this wine by Agustín Santolaya was aged in 40% new and 60% 2nd year French oak barrels for 16 months.
Before its commercial release, Roda Reserva 2015 was aged for a further 20 months in the bottle.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Drink this Rioja red wine through 2030.
The wine Roda Reserva has a medium-high cherry coloured robe with a ruby rim.
This fascinating red wine by Bodegas Roda has a delightful nose, pure and very precise. Notes of ripe cherries, plums, spices and balsam, intertwined with aromas of Arabica coffee, pipe tobacco, underbush, lavender and fresh violets. At the bottom of it all, there is a constant mineral beat.
Meaty, expressive and delicately warm, this Reserve red wine successfully integrates the best of old and new Rioja. The top-class fruit has been decisively enhanced by a masterful ageing process, pointing to Eastern spices, cedar, balsam and undergrowth. Smooth and palate-coating, with mild tannins and a crisp acidity. Fresh and life-affirming, this wine by Bodegas Roda has a long finish with some remembrances of clove, vanilla and Havanna cigars.
