Product Description

A champion of old Priorat traditions, the family-run winery  Rotllan Torra produces this Spanish red wine from over 25-year-old grapevines.

They are planted in the typical, trademark llicorella (slate) soils which have made Priorat famous all over the world.

A blend of Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon, the whole winemaking process is performed in a meticulous and strictly artisan manner.

After the harvest, the grapes were destemed, fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks.

Then Rotllan Torra Etiqueta Negra 2014 was aged for 12 months in 2nd year French and American oak barrels. Then it was aged for some months in the bottle.

Aerate this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The wine Rotllan Torra Etiqueta Negra has an intense, dark cherry colour with a purple rim.

This red wine from Priorat is deep and intense. Toasted and smoky nuances, some spicy and balsamic tips and pure aromas of red and black fruit. On the background, Etiqueta Negra of Rotllan Torra shows remembrances of Mediterranean garrigue, dark mineral and aromatic herbs.

Bold and substantial, the warmth of this crianza red wine of the Rotllan Torra winery is balanced with a crisp, refreshing acidity. Fruit is meaty and ripe, and there are some gentle nuances of clove and cinnamon, as well a deep mineral layer. Savoury tannins and long, intense finish.

Our personal opinion

A ridiculously good value, Rotllan Torra Etiqueta Negra 2014 pairs wonderfully with cured meat and aged cheeses.

A bargain from Priorat
A very good Priorat for an unbelievable price, considering the average price of the region. Thank God the winery is not glamorous or hip. Their wines are superb.
