Red Wine Rotllan Torra Reserva 2013
Red wine from Priorat. Blend aged for 24 months in American oak barrels.
Availability: In stock
Made from the classic Priorat blend of Grenache and Carignan, along with a tiny amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, this Spanish red wine is produced from vines over 25 years old planted in steep slate - llicorella - slopes with soils composed of decomposed slate and quartz.
Harvested by hand and carefully selected in the vineyard, the grapes were brought to the cellar, cold-soaked with their skins and fermented. Then the wine was aged for 24 months in American oak barrels, after which Rotllan Torra Reserva 2013 was aged for a further 24 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
We strongly advise you to decant this red wine from Priorat for a minimum of 30 minutes before you enjoy it.
Drink over the next 6 years.
The wine Rotllan Torra Reserva has a dark, intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Intriguing and complex. First, some smoky notes go hand in hand with dim aromas coming from the ageing process. Then the fruit rapidly appears -and a very nice black fruit indeed! This red wine from Priorat also suggests some notions of undergrowth, mineral undertones and hints of dry herbs.
Loads of black fruit, liquor fruit punch, and some hints of toast. This reserve red wine by the Rotllan Torra winery has an evocative mineral background and some spicy remembrances. Despite its Mediterranean warmth, the wine is lively on the palate thanks to its great, crisp acidity. Tannins are velvety and ripe. Very long finish with some fruity and mineral remembrances.
|Our personal opinion||
The wine Rotllan Torra Reserva 2013 is a purebred, affordable Priorat that pairs wonderfully with hearty dishes. Just try it with a pan-seared venison with blueberries and shallots.
