Red Wine Rotllan Torra Reserva 2018
Availability: In stock
The interesting -and excellently priced- Rotllan Torra Reserva from Priorat is produced by the Rotllan Torra winery.
A classic Priorat blend of Grenache and Carignan, complemented with a tiny amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, this Spanish red wine comes from vines over 25 years old planted on steep slate slopes
Harvested by hand and carefully selected in the vineyard, the grapes were brought to the cellar, cold-soaked with their skins and fermented. Then the wine was aged for 24 months in American oak barrels, after which Rotllan Torra Reserva 2018 was aged for a further 24 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
We strongly advise you to decant this red wine from Priorat for a minimum of 30 minutes before you enjoy it.
Appearance | The red wine Rotllan Torra Reserva is deep ruby with a garnet rim. |
---|---|
Nose | Smokey notes and spicy aromas coming from the ageing process. Then the fruit appears -and a very nice black fruit it is. This blend of Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon also suggests notions of undergrowth, mineral undertones and hints of dry herbs. |
Palate | Loads of black fruit, liquor fruit punch, and some hints of toast. This reserva red wine of bodega Rotllan Torra winery has an evocative mineral background and some spicy remembrances. Despite its Mediterranean warmth, the wine is lively on the palate thanks to its great, crisp acidity. Tannins are velvety and ripe. Very long finish with some fruity and mineral remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Rotllan Torra Reserva 2018 is an affordable Priorat that pairs wonderfully with hearty dishes. |
