Product Description

This blended Spanish red wine comes from Menorca, the quietest, probably most charming of the Balearic Islands.

Produced by Celler Solano de Menorca, Sa Forana Menorca is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) coming from little plots located three kilometres from the seashore.

The vines are around 15 years of age, and grow in rocky soils.

The grapes were separately harvested and fermented. The Syrah and the Tempranillo were fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 6 months. The Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot were aged in new and 2nd year American oak barrels.

Finally, Sa Forana Menorca 2018 was blended and bottled.

Limited production.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Sa Forana Menorca has an intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Ull de llebre is rich and nuanced. Remembrances of strawberries, cherries and redcurrants, combined with black fruit, toast, aromatic herbs, aniseed, menthol and Mediterranean garrigue.

Juicy and yummy, this wine from Celler Solano de Menorca shows some mineral and salty notes, combined with remembrances of clove, vanilla and cardamom. Good balance, excellent acidity and lively tannins. Long, smokey-toasted finish

Once British, always British
Well, who would have known that in our former domain one could find winds as delightful as this? A most excellent purchase.

A most interesting international coupage of varieties from Menorca. Good balance, restrained use of oak, medium body, enjoyable freshness. Remembrances of herbs which take you to the wonderful Menorcan landscape.
