The grapes were destemmed, gently crushed and cold-macerated for 3 to 4 days. Then this red wine from Alicante was fermented and macerated for 21 days in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Sericis Cepas Viejas Monastrell 2017 was transferred into new French oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
We suggest pairing this Crianza red wine with roast recipes and oily fish dishes.
The red wine Sericis Cepas Viejas Monastrell is bright ruby with a garnet rim.
This varietal Monastrell conveys characteristic aromas of blackberries, violets and tree bark, with mineral intimations and hints of spices, undergrowth and toast.
Bold, meaty and structured, this wine of Bodegas Murviedro has a steely acidity which compensates the weight. Fruit-driven, with ripe tannins and a very long finish reminiscent of clove, balsam and dry earth.
|Our personal opinion||
A hearty wine for sure, Sericis Cepas Viejas Monastrell 2017 will pair surprisingly well with oily fish recipes.
