Red Wine Solar de Líbano Reserva 2009
Availability: Out of stock
Solar de Líbano Reserva is a red wine made from a blend of 98% Tempranillo, completed with 2% of Graciano and Grenache, all coming from estate vineyards owned by the Castillo de Sajazarra winery in Rioja.
Vinified in a traditional manner, the wine was aged for two years in American oak barrels.
Interestingly, though, during the first year Solar de Líbano Reserva 2009 was aged in new oak barrels, while in the second year, with the aim of not suffocating the wine with oak flavours, it was transferred into 4th year barrels.
Once the ageing period was completed, this red wine from Rioja spent another 3 months in big vats to harmonize its components. Finally, the wine was aged for a further 12 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
Clean, bright, medium garnet robe with a violet rim.
This Spanish red wine is deep and expressive, showing notes of ripe fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, and noticeable remembrances of toast, dry fruits and smoke. Some dim herbal touches, along with liquorice and hints of honey.
Well-balanced and wisely chiseled by time, with a palate defined by notes red fruit and exotic spices. Good acidity, a slight touch of alcohol and ripe tannins. Long finish with some spicy remembrances.
