The blend of grapes that composes El Lance 7 Fuentes changes every year, depending on the specific characteristics of each particular vintage.
The 2017 vintage of this Spanish red wine from the Canary Islands is made from a blend of several indigenous grapes.
The vines are 60 to over 100 years old, and they are located at altitudes between 300 and 650 metres above sea level. They grow in purely volcanic soils located in the region of Valle de la Orotava, a factor that brings an exceptional character to the wine.
The grapes of this wine by Suertes del Marqués were separately harvested and vinified in little concrete vats and open cubes.
Then the wine was transferred into 500-litre oak vats, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 9 months on its lees.
Finally, Suertes del Marqués El Lance 2017 was blended, and bottled unfiltered.
The red wine Suertes del Marqués El Lance has a medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a bluish rim.
This red wine from Tenerife is very original. Well-defined fruit aromas, extremely pure and seductive, alongside notes of aromatic herbs, toast and spices. Most interestingly, this wine by Suertes del Marqués has an ever-present, very original mineral background reminiscent of pumice stone.
Again, wonderfully original, crisp and fresh. Deep mineral nuances and a fascinating overall profile, derived from the blend of Listán Negro and other native varieties. There are also remembrances of red fruit, combined with aromatic herbs, vegetables and balsam. Excellent acidity and a long, mineral finish.
