The vines were planted in limestone soils between 1932 and 1975. The zone has an extreme continental climate.
Harvest was carried out meticulously. The alcoholic fermentation of this Spanish red wine took place in stainless steel tanks, while malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels, where the wine was also aged for 14 months.
We suggest that you aerate Tarima Hill 2017 about 40 minutes before you drink it.
The red wine Tarima Hill has a clean, bright, intense high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
The wine opens tight, but after a while this old-vines Monastrell from Alicante shows a panoply of toasted notes and spices that slowly evolve into notes of ripe fruit, exotic fruit and a sophisticated touch of Havana cigars. On the background, some remembrances of dry earth.
Bold and expressive, with a clear note of liquor-infused fruit mingled with hints of toast and spices. On the background, an intriguing mineral and earthy layer. This wine by Bodegas Volver - Jorge Ordóñez has an excellent acidity, very refreshing, some ripe, savoury tannins and a long, persistent finish with a surprising touch of bitter chocolate, smoke and, again, some notions of fruit.

A serious wine at a very affordable price, Tarima Hill 2017 is a superb Mediterranean Monastrell that makes a great pairing with, for instance, a lamb stew.
