Red Wine Termes 2016
Availability: In stock
The freshest wine produced by Bodegas Numanthia, Termes is a single varietal, terroir-bound Tinta de Toro.
This substantial Spanish red wine is made from low-yielding, 30 to 50-year-old vineyards located at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level within the DO Toro
Meticulously harvested and selected, the destemmed Tinta de Toro grapes were fermented for 7 days with 2 daily pump-overs.
After that, this red wine from Toro was macerated with the skins for 21 days. Then it was aged for 16 months in 20% new and 80% 2nd year French oak barrels. During the process, it was drawn off every 4 months.
Decant Termes 2016 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Termes has a very bright, intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a purple rim. |
---|---|
Nose | Fresh, juicy aromas of redcurrants, cherries and raspberries, combined with notes of lavender, undergrowth, dry earth and violets. On the background, this Tinta de Toro has some resounding mineral undertones and touches of spices, aromatic herbs and eucalyptus. |
Palate | Elegant and powerful, with a muscular body that doesn't show even a hint of flabbiness. Spices, blue flowers, blackcurrants, smoke, underbush and mineral suggestions. This wine by the Numanthia winery has a vibrant acidity, delicious tannins and long, balsamic finish. |
Our personal opinion | The worthy younger brother of the mighty Numanthia and Termanthia, Termes 2016 is a great value from Toro. Nice combination of boldness and freshness. |
