Terrer d'Aubert 2016
Crianza red wine from Tarragona made from Cabernet Sauvignon & Grenache aged for 14 months in oak barrels.

The peculiar personality of this red wine from Tarragona comes from two factors. The first is the combination of two of the world's most popular red grapes. The second, and most important one, is that both varieties grow in a very particular kind of terroir. Known as lumaquel·la, the soils are composed of stones and rocks formed through the aggregation of mineral fossils. These soils bring a remarkable minerality to the wine.
Produced in the Tarragona DO, the grapes were harvested by hand, brought to the cellar in little boxes and kept refrigerated for 24 hours.
Then they were cold-soaked for 3 days, crushed and fermented. After that, Terrer d’Aubert 2015 was transferred into light-toasted, 225-litre French oak barrels from Allier, Vosges and Nevers, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for a period between 12 and 14 months.
Drink this crianza red wine over the next 4-6 years.
The red wine from Tarragona Terrer d'Aubert has a bright, medium-high cherry robe with a garnet rim.
This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Grenache has a very interesting profile, a combination of red berries, notes of Mediterranean aromatic herbs such as lavender, thyme and rosemary, some creamy nuances and a subtle, enveloping mineral aura with a surprisingly salty remembrance.
Very pleasant, with Cabernet showing its muscle, the Grenache providing the fruit, and both being sustained by a firm structure defined by the mineral terroir of lumaquel.la. This red wine by Vinyes del Terrer combines notes of raspberries and strawberries with remembrances of green bell peppers, alongside some meaty sensations, hints of fine wood, a mineral backbone and a tense acidity. Long finish with some spicy and earthy remembrances.
