Details

Produced by bodega Àlvarez Duran, Terroir X La Tercera is an impeccable Spanish red wine from Priorat made following a classic style.

A blend of CarignanGrenacheCabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the grapes come from bush vines planted on steep slate slopes which confer the wine a distinctive minerality.

Each variety was separately harvested and individually vinified in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. After that, Terroir X La Tercera 2014 was transferred into new French oak barrels, where it was aged for 14 months. Finally, the wine was bottled and aged for some months before hitting the market.

It is important to decant this Crianza red wine at the very least 40 minutes before drinking.

Pair with casseroles, hearty meat recipes and game dishes.

Appearance

The red wine Terroir X La Tercera is deep ruby with a purplish rim.

Nose Mellowed by the years, this blend of Carignan, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot feels round, nuanced and impeccably balanced. Blackberries, blackcurrants and bitter cocoa, with deep mineral undertones and some spicy and smokey remembrances.

Palate

Nicely balancing power and elegance, this wine from bodega Álvarez Duran is fresh, pleasant and detailed, with bridled tannins and a first-rate acidity. The spicy notes are more prominent, and fruit is simply exquisite. Finish is long and deeply mineral.

Our personal opinion The confidential Terroir X La Tercera 2014 is an exquisitely crafted Priorat red wine.
