It is made from relatively young, 15 to 25-year-old Tempranillo vines, located in the town of La Horra.
Carefully harvested, first the grapes were cold macerated for 2 to 3 days. Then this red wine from Ribera del Duero was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, Tinto Figuero 4 Meses 2020 completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 5 months in 66% French and 34% American oak barrels.
Interestingly, the 2020 of this young red wine was deemed "Excellent" by the Ribera del Duero regulatory board.
The red wine Tinto Figuero 4 Meses is medium ruby with a burgundy rim.
Fresh and enticing aromas of wild berries, red fruit, toast and balsam, typical of a varietal Tempranillo, underpinned by some seductive mineral undertones.
Agile and pleasant, this wine from Bodegas y Viñedos García Figuero shows good balance between oak and fruit. Very fresh, with flavours of red berries, rosy pepper and liquorice. Mild tannins and a long, fruity finish.
