Red Wine Tionio 2019
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of an interesting Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero. As usual, Tionio is a single varietal Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo).
Produced by Bodega Tionio, half of the grapes come from La Asperilla, a 25-year-old vineyard with limestone and sandy soils located in the village of Peñafiel, at 800 metres of altitude. The other half was sourced from two vineyards, located in Pedrosa de Duero and Olmedillo de Roa.
The grapes were manually harvested. Once in the cellar, this red wine from Ribera del Duero fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with frequent pump-overs and punch-downs to maximize skin maceration.
After that, Tionio 2019 was transferred into 2nd year French oak barrels, where it was aged for 15 months before its bottling.
Aerate this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Tionio is medium purple with a violet rim and bluish tinges. |

Nose | On the nose, this varietal Tinto Fino suggests aromas of mulberries and bilberries, intertwined with hints of caramel and sweet spices. Delicate notes of flowers and freshly ground black pepper, along with some toasted remembrances, enrich the aromatic profile. |
Palate | A purebred Ribera, this wine from Bodega Tionio has a noble character. Raspberries and blackberries, notes of toffee and spices and some earthy remembrances. Ripe, powerful tannins and a good acidity that cleanses the palate. Complex, persistent finish. |
Our personal opinion | A wine with some good years ahead of it, Tionio 2019 has grip, depth and freshness. |
