Details

Produced by bodega Venta d’Aubert, Venta d’Aubert Dionus is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot made from certified organic vineyards grown in clay-limestone soils in the designation VT Bajo Aragón.

Interestingly, some years ago the winery started a a process of soil regeneration using vegetal compost and animal manure, following the guidelines of biodynamic agriculture.

The grapes were picked by hand. This Spanish red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Then it was macerated with the skins for 3 weeks, and subsequently transferred into French oak barrels. Finally, Venta d'Aubert Dionus 2014 completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 30 months in oak.

We suggest that you decant this red wine from Bajo Aragón so that it can fully express its qualities.

Appearance

The red wine Venta d’Aubert Dionus has an intense, deep cherry colour.

Nose

Somewhat closed at the beginning, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot shows typical aromas of blackberries and green bell pepper, together with chocolate, plums and underbrush. Oak is nicely integrated. This organic crianza red wine has a smoky and spicy background, with some mint and eucaliptus undertones.

Palate

Classy, deep and gently warm, this wine of Venta d’Aubert has a smooth body and a good acidity. There are remembrances of leather and tobacco, with some balsamic notes and a berryish note. Long finish.

Our personal opinion

The wine Venta d’Aubert Dionus 2014 is complex and full-bodied. Be sure to decant this Bajo Aragón red wine to enjoy it to the fullest.

Excellent!!

Excellent. It is funny how well Bordeaux blends perform in certain parts of Spain. To find the same quality in France you must pay 3x.
