This time, this Spanish red wine is made from 60% Grenache, 30% Carignan - coming from 50 to 70-year-old, low-yielding vines - and 10% Syrah. They vineyards are scattered over the towns of Marçà, Capçanes and Falset.
Harvested in little, 10-kg. boxes, the grapes were fermented in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts.
Finally, Vespres 2017 was aged for 14 months in 2,000-litre oak vats.
The wine Vespres has a lively cherry colour with a purplish rim.
Quite pure, this Crianza red wine shows a precise varietal expression with aromas of wild berries, notions of forest and undergrowth, deep mineral and metallic-like sensations, some hints of wet earth and a dash of spices and flowers. An expressive Montsant indeed.
The entrance onto the palate of this red wine from Josep Grau Viticultor is fresh and velvety, carrying some rich notes of spices and red berries, intertwined with some earthy and mineral notions and a floral remembrance. Vibrant tannins, with a very good acidity and an elegant finish.

There is no doubt that Josep Grau knows his craft. Vespres 2017 is an unashamedly Mediterranean wine full of freshness and finesse.
