This is the new vintage of Viernes Mencía, produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Godelia.
This varietal Spanish red wine from DO El Bierzo is produced from over 30-year-old vineyards located at altitudes between 500 and 700 metres. The soils are mainly composed of slate.
The Mencía grapes were harvested by hand. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed, fermented and macerated with the skins for 15 days.
After the completion of malolactic fermentation, Viernes Mencía 2020 was aged for 4 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks.
