Red Wine Viña Alberdi Crianza 2014
Availability: In stock
This Spanish red wine is a single varietal Tempranillo coming from over 30-year-old vineyards located in the towns of Rodezno and Labastida.
The plots are at an altitude between 500 and 600 metres above sea level. Soils are composed of clay and limestone.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Then this red wine from La Rioja was transferred into American oak barrels, where it remained for 24 months. During the first 12 months, it was aged in new barrels and racked four times.
After that, Viña Alberdi Crianza 2014 completed its ageing process in used, 3rd year oak barrels.
Drink now until 2021.
The red wine Viña Alberdi Crianza has a medium, garnet-coloured robe with a ruby rim.
This Crianza red wine by La Rioja Alta is fresh an intense. Aromas of fruit compote, strawberries, toffee, Eastern spices, balsam, Havanna cigars, roasted coffee and Moroccan leather.
An elegant Tempranillo from La Rioja, with a delightfully gentle character and a classy demeanor. Remembrances of menthol, wet earth, spices, tobacco, black fruit and liquor-infused fruit. Well-balanced acidity and ripe tannins. Long, evocative finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Easy-to-drink but also substantial, Viña Alberdi 2014 is a textbook Rioja.
