Red Wine Viña Ardanza Reserva 2015
Availability: In stock
The 2015 vintage of Viña Ardanza Reserva is considered one of the best of the 21st century.
The Tempranillo grapes are sourced from two 30-year-old vineyards: “La Cuesta” and “Montecillo”, located in the towns of Fuenmayor and Cenicero, Rioja Alta. The Grenache comes from a vineyard at 550 metres of altitude located in Tudelilla, Rioja Baja.
Vinification and ageing of each varietal were carried out separately. The Tempranillo spent 36 months in 4th year American oak barrels, while Grenache was aged for 30 months in 2nd and 3rd year American oak. Manual racking was performed 5 times throughout the winemaking process.
Finally, Viña Ardanza Reserva 2015 was bottled in September 2019 and aged for two years in the bottle before hitting the market.
Produced by La Rioja Alta, it is advisable to decant decant this Reserva red wine from Rioja 40 minutes before drinking.
The wine Viña Ardanza Reserva is medium garnet with a brick rim.
This blend of Tempranillo and Grenache shows a quintessential Rioja Style. Delicate ageing nuances: chocolate, arabica coffee beans, cocoa, vanilla and spicy notes of white pepper and clove. The wine also suggests deep aromas of black fruit with hints of tobacco and fine leather.
After a gentle, smooth entrance, this wine from La Rioja Alta shows a generous, yet supple body. Ripe red fruit, some balsamic notes, undergrowth and hints of liquorice and Jamaica pepper. Excellent balance with gentle, well-integrated tannins and a tight structure. Great length and a complex aftertaste of sandalwood and Eastern spices.
