Agrícola d'Ulldemolins Sant Jaume

Agrícola d'Ulldemolins Sant Jaume

A clear example of Catalonia's long-lasting tradition of agricultural cooperativism, the wine by Agrícola d'Ulldemolins are honest, intense and expressive.

The Agrícola d'Ulldemolins Sant Jaume SCCL was founded in 1953 in the town of Ulldemolins, in the Priorat region. Beginning with 122 partners, the company was focused from the outset on the production of wine and olive oil. In 1961, the company acquired some new equipment, built some concrete vats and refurbished the facilites. At the end of the last century, it began to produce organic olive oil and opened an agrostore to sell its products. In 2000, the company left the Tarragona DO and joined the Montsant DO.

Currently, the winery grows over 20 hectares of vineyards, 85% of which are dedicated to the production of red wines, and the rest to white wines. The main varieties are Grenache and White Grenache, and they are planted at an altitude around 500 metres above sea level. Aged for 12 months, the Crianza red wine is marketed under the name “Ulldemolins”, while the two youngest wines, one red and one white, bear the name “Les Pedrenyeres”.
