Castillo de Maetierra
The Castillo de Maetierra winery crafts innovative white wines, fresh red wines, and delicious dessert wines from the Valle de Sadacia region of the Rioja.
In the geographically protected Valle de Sadacia, inside of the Rioja, the Castillo de Maetierra winery crafts their elite white, rosé, and dessert wines, under the VT classification of Spain (Vinos de la Tierra). It is extraordinary how well this winery´s white grape varietals have adapted to this region. Each year this winery´s Moscatel grapes are the first to become perfectly ripened in the Rioja and therefore this winery is the first to realize its harvest.
The white wines from the Castillo de Maetierra winery in the Valle de Sadacia valley are exclusive, innovative, and prestigious grapes. These are very expressive grapes which this winery uses to craft its wide range of seductive wines with unique tastes. Castillo de Maetierra crafts wines that are dry, fresh, and aromatic. These wines have a smooth passage through the palate that is fruity, delicate, and elegant. The dessert wines of this winery are crafted from grapes that were allowed to become overripe.
The Líbalis family of wines by the Castillo de Maetierra winery are crafted from a base of very high quality Moscatel de Grano Menudo grapes. These wines are then completed with the addition of Viura, Chardonnay, and Malvasía grapes. The Libalis rosé is also crafted from these grapes except its base is with Syrah instead of Moscatel. The dessert and fortified wines by Libalis are all 100% Moscatel de Grano Menudo grapes.
