Details

Made from a blend of 70% Tempranillo and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, Enate Crianza is a Spanish red wine produced in the Somontano DO. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level.

Harvested by hand at its optimal ripening point, each of the grape varieties was separately vinified.

Destemmed and gently crushed, both wine musts were macerated and fermented in contact with the grape skins in stainless steel tanks.

Then Enate Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon, produced by the Enate winery, underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 9 months.

The Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in French oak barrels and the Tempranillo in American oak barrels.

After that, Enate Crianza 2014 was blended and further aged for 18 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

Drink until 2023.

Additional Information

Appearance

The red wine Enate Crianza has a clean, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a ruby rim.

Nose

This Spanish red wine from Somontano is intense. Lively notes of red fruit, spices and some smokey notions. Dim herbal undertones, alongside remembrances of liquorice, coffee and tobacco.

Palate

Dense and meaty, this blend of Tempranillo & Cabernet Sauvignon by the Enate winery has bold tannins, a rock-solid structure and a well-balanced acidity. Black fruit, green bell peppers, sesame seeds, dry earth and graphite. Long, spicy finish.

Our personal opinion

An all-rounder, Enate Crianza 2014 will please all kinds of drinkers.
