This is the new vintage of Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay, a young Spanish white wine produced by Enrique Mendoza.
A single varietal Chardonnay, it is made from estate-owned vineyards planted on the hills of Cabezo de la Virgen de Villena, at an altitude of 700 metres, in the northwestern area of the Alicante DO, bordering the Yecla DO.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were macerated for 3 hours and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. Then Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay 2017 wasaged in the tanks on its lees for a minimum of 5 months.
Drink this fresh white wine from Alicante until 2020.
The white wine Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay has a straw yellow colour with some golden and greenish tinges.
Intense varietal aromas, typical of a Med Chardonnay. Green apples, tropical fruit, dim floral remembrances and a hint of dry fruit. On the background, this Chardonnay by Enrique Mendoza suggests a note of toasted bread and French patisserie.
Fresh and creamy, this white wine from Alicante has a nice balance between the fruit and the creamy nuances, enlivened by a fresh acidity. Long finish with a leesy and tropical note.
|Our personal opinion||
A yummy Chardonnay from Mediterranean Spain, Enrique Mendoza Chardonnay 2017 pairs nicely with rice, fish dishes and creamy cheeses.
