A single varietal White Grenache, it is made from naturally overripe grapes coming from over 70-year-old vines which yield less than 1 kilogram per plant.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were brought to the cellar, destemmed and gently pressed.
Then they were transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they underwent alcoholic fermentation.
In order to preserve the required sugar level to produce a sweet wine, alcoholic fermentation was cold-stopped.
After that, this white wine from Montsant was aged for 4 months on its lees in French oak barrels.
Finally, the wine was filtered and cold-stabilized prior to its bottling.
Interestingly, the 2012 vintage of this white wine won a Grand Gold Medal in the prestigious “Grenaches du Monde” 2014 contest, a competition that featured over 400 participants from all over the world.
Pale yellow with some greenish tinges.
This Spanish sweet wine shows enticing notes of white flowers, figs, citrus, pomelo, honey and spices.
Wide and agile, with a dense body enlivened by a remarkable acidity and a great balance. Grapefruit, jasmine, royal jelly, honey, white roses, fennel and aniseed parade gracefully in the palate. Long, complex finish.
