This remarkable sweet Spanish red wine is a little treasure coming from the region of Montsant.
A single varietal Grenache, Ètim Verema Tardana Negre Dolç is wine made from naturally overripen, late-harvested, sweet red grapes.
The Grenache vineyards are over 70 years of age. Vines yield less than 1 kilogram per plant.
After the harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation naturally stopped because of the high amount of natural sugar, winemakers added wine alcohol to achieve the desired alcohol content.
Finally, Ètim Verema Tardana Negre Dolç 2015, produced by the Cooperativa Agrícola Falset-Marçà, was transferred into old French oak barrels, where it was aged for 10 months.
This naturally sweet red wine from Montsant will live a very long and prosperous life in the bottle.
The sweet red wine Ètim Verema Tardana Negre Dolç has a very bright, medium-high ruby-coloured robe with an orangeish tinge.
Complex and intense, this sweet red wine by Agrícola Falset-Marçà exhibits some deep aromas of ripe black fruit, raisins, dried figs, strawberry jam, cocoa, underbush, coffee, smoke and some mineral and balsamic nuances.
Fresh and unctuous, with a remarkable density and a surprisingly smooth passage through the palate. This sweet Grenache red wine suggests notes of raisins, dry fruit, red berries, chocolate, menthol, tomato jam and Mediterranean herbs. Very good acidity and great freshness, which prevents the wine from being oversweet. Mild tannins and extremely long finish.
|Our personal opinion||
The intoxicating Ètim Verema Tardana Negre Dolç 2015 pairs marvellously with blue cheese, red berries and chocolate desserts.
