Made from a blend of White Grenache, Grey Grenache (known as Garnatxa Roja in northern Catalonia) and Macabeo, Finca Olivardots Groc d'Àmfora is produced from old vines, many of which are over 80 years old.
Harvested by hand, after a pre-maceration with the skins this white wine from L'Empordà was transferred into 700-litre clay vessels, where it was fermented and aged for 4 months.
Not filtered or clarified, Finca Olivardots Groc d'Àmfora 2018 was aged for some months in the bottle before its release.
The Spanish white wine Finca Olivardots Groc d'Àmfora has a pale yellow colour with some grey tinges.
This white wine from Finca Olivardots is very suggestive. Aromas of citrus, white flowers, aniseed, aromatic herbs and ripe bone fruit. On the background, this white wine aged in clay vessels insinuates some mineral nuances and earthy remembrances.
Fresh and zesty, this Grey Grenache white wine has an unctuous body and a smooth texture. Remembrances of apricots, peaches, Mediterranean underbrush and flowers. Crisp acidity and long finish with some mineral remembrances.
|Our personal opinion||
Unconventional and seductive, Finca Olivardots Groc d'Àmfora 2018 widens the range of our wine palate.

This reminds me of some Georgian orange wines produced in the now famous Qvevri vessels. Earthy, balsamic, slightly tanninc, with tension and inner thrust.
