The wine Furvus is made from a blend of 80% Hairy Grenache and 20% Merlot in the Montsant DO.

The grapes of this organic Spanish red wine come from a 15-hectare estate located at an altitude of 525 metres above sea level. Sois are composed of clay and limestone.

Produced by the increasingly prestigious Vinyes Domènech winery, the grapes were fermented for a period of 12 days at a controlled temperature.

After that, this organic red wine from Montsant was aged for 14 months in 1st and 2nd year American and French oak barrels.

We suggest that you decant this Furvus 2015 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information

The red wine Furvus has an elegant, intense, bright cherry colour with a violet rim.

This crianza red wine from Montsant is precise and pristine on the nose. Aromas of Mediterranean undergrowth, rosemary, thyme, fennel, red berries, and some fresh mineral undertones. There is plenty to enjoy here.

This organic red wine by Vinyes Domènech is rich and full of nuance. Ripe red fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, roasted coffee, balsam and some mineral remembrances. Very precise acidity, a smooth body, some polished tannins and long, satisfying finish.

Our personal opinion

Made from an original blend of Hairy Grenache & Merlot, and with a distinctively mineral note, Furvus 2015 is a very interesting red wine from Montsant.

  1. montsant review by For me and for you on 12/20/2018

1st class Montsant red which won't break the bank. Perfectly adjusted, round and fresh, compelling.

  2. Furvus review by John Roxy on 10/23/2017

As smooth as it gets. Garnacha Peluda & Merlot are a likely blend, but they complement each other in a marvelous way. Silky palate, crunchy fruit, tannins like velvet and an intringuing mineral quality.
