The grapes of this Spanish red wine come from vineyards over 25 years of age that grow under a harsh Continental climate within the DO Rueda.
Mechanically harvested, after being destemmed, cold-soaked and crushed the resulting free-run juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then Gran Cardiel Verdejo Viura 2018 was aged on its lees for some months.
Finally, this white wine from Rueda was blended and aged bottled after a gentle filtration.
The wine Gran Cardiel Verdejo Viura has a pale wax colour with some greenish glints.
Showing a nice varietal character, this blend of Verdejo and Viura smells of bone fruit, pineapples, white flowers, aniseed and citrus.
Notes of aromatic herbs, aniseed, and ripe white fruit, typical of a white wine from Rueda. Smooth and unctuous, this wine by Félix Lorenzo Cachazo is fresh and rather long, with an aftertaste of herbs and fennel.
