The Can Ràfols dels Caus winery has all of its vineyards planted in the Garraf Massif, a place whose soils are composed of limestone and have an abundance of marine fossils.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were separately fermented and vinified.
After the completion of secondary fermentation, the Cava Gran Caus Brut Nature Reserva was aged for 30 months.
Drink this Catalan sparkling wine over the next 4 years.
Intense yellow colour with some golden tinges.
Dry fruit and white fruit, a dash of baked apples and some creamy notes of citrus marmalade, nuanced by hints of balsam, mineral and herbs.
Smooth-textured and palate-coating, with a fresh passage through the palate and a caressing mousse. Mediterranean underbrush, balsam, toast and ripe white fruit. Long finish with remembrances of dry fruit.
