Guilla is a Spanish white wine produced in the Catalan region of Costers del Segre.
It is a single varietal Macabeo produced from vineyards located in the Corb River Valley.
After the harvest, the grapes were cold-soaked and began fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Then this white wine aged in oak was transferred into French, American and Hungarian oak barrels, where it completed fermentation and was aged for 5 months on its lees with 3 weekly stirrings.
Finally, Guilla 2016, produced by Celler Cercavins, was stabilized and filtered before its bottling.
Guilla has a pale yellow colour with some golden tinges.
This white wine from Costers del Segre shows an nice varietal character. Remembrances of fine lees, pastry and ripe white fruit, combined with aromas of spices, dry fruit and balsam.
Fresh and savoury, this varietal Macabeo by Celler Cercavins is fresh and savoury. Intense suggestions of white fruit and tropical fruit, some remembrances of undergrowth and spices. Delicately dry, it has a well-balanced acidity and long, fruity finish.
