Details

Made in the enchanting island of Mallorca, and belonging to the Binissalem-Mallorca DO, Jaume de Puntiró Daurat is one of the very few white wines from Majorca solely made from Premsal Blanc, a grape variety native to the island.

This Spanish organic white wine was crafted by the Jaume de Puntiró winery from vines located in the town of Santa Maria del Camí, 10 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island.

The 20-year-old, organically grown grapes were harvested by hand, slightly pressed and fermented in French oak barrels from Allier.

Then, Jaume de Puntiró Daurat 2017 was aged for 6 months in those same barrels before its bottling. Drink until 2021.

Additional Information

Appearance

The white wine Jaume de Puntiró Daurat has a clean, bright, light golden colour with grey tinges and some greenish glints.

Nose

This white wine from Mallorca made from Premsal Blanc is intense and seductive, suggesting notes of pineapple and mango, along with hints of citrus, fresh herbs, almonds, some floral remembrances and some intimations of clove and laurel.

Palate

Fresh and savoury, this organic white wine by the Jaume de Puntiró winery fills the palate with fresh notes of ripe citrus, toast, bitter herbs, a dash of treacle and some earthy undertones. Long, fruity finish.

Our personal opinion

A highly original white wine, Jaume de Puntiró Daurat 2017 is a nice surprise from Mallorca.
