A single estate wine, Jaume de Puntiró Vermell is made from vines farmed following the principles of organic farming.
Traditionally vinified, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 6 months in American oak barrels.
After that, this red wine from Mallorca slept for some months in the cellar to further round it and mellow it.
The wine Jaume de Puntiró Vermell 2018 offers an excellent chance to get to know some interesting Majorcan grape varieties.
The organic red wine Jaume de Puntiró Vermell has a very bright, clean ruby colour with some violet tinges and a garnet rim.
This blend of Mantonegro and Callet from Mallorca is characteristic and expressive. Fresh notes of ripe red berries, alongside aromas of freshly cut grass, laurel, flowers and liquorice.
Smooth and fresh, this organic red wine from the Jaume de Puntiró winery has a good balance and a great acidity. Pure notes of red fruit, combined with remembrances of flowers, black olives and citrus. Long finish.
|Our personal opinion||Mild and pleasant, Jaume de Puntiró Vermell 2018 is a lovely example of a wine made solely from native Majorcan grapes.|

Had this in Palma de Mallorca and was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of some Italian wines.
