One of the oldest wineries in Penedès, Jaume Giró i Giró, presents this elegant, long-aged Catalan sparkling wine.
It is a Grand Reserve Brut Nature made from old vineyards. The winery is currently converting to organic farming.
After a traditional vinification, Jaume Giró i Giró Selecte Gran Reserva 2008 was bottled and then aged for no less than 92 months in the cellar.
The Vinari 2016 Awards, arguably Catalonia's most important wine accolade, recently chose this wine Best Catalan Cava of 2016.
Drink until 2020+.
Open the bottle a minimum of 30 minutes before drinking.
Very bright golden colour with some amber tinges.
Creamy nuances of white fruit and white flowers, remembrances of dry fruit, English custard, orange rind and raw almonds. An elegant mineral and toasted background.
Palate-coating, dry and very fresh, with a lean body and an exceptional acidity. Notes of fine lees, dry fruit, patisserie, citrus and flowers. Smooth texture and long, deep finish.
