Details

This in the new vintage of Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata (Silver Label), also known as Juan Gil 12 Meses. One of Spain's absolute best values.

This Spanish red wine from Jumilla is a single varietal Monastrell

Made from over 50-year-old vines located in the highest area of the region, the grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and macerated for 25 days in stainless steel tanks.

After that, this red wine from Jumilla completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Drink this wine by Juan Gil, Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata 2017, until 2025.

Additional Information

Appearance

The wine Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata has a bright cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

This expressive Crianza red wine from Jumilla smells of juicy and jammy red fruit, nuanced by some creamy and spicy remembrances, the result of 12 months in oak. On the background, there is a dash of liquorice, and hints of violets and Mediterranean garrigue.

Palate

Nicely crafted, this Monastrell by Juan Gil is utterly Mediterranean and fresh. Wild berries, some earthy notions, tree bark, exotic spices, menthol, and some vegetal remembrances. This wine has a very good acidity, savoury tannins and a long finish.

Our personal opinion

A wine of remarkable consistency, Juan Gil Etiqueta Plata 2017, aka Juan Gil 12 meses, is an affordable delight.
