The new vintage of this Spanish red wine belonging to the DO Vinos de Madrid, hitherto known as La Bruja Avería, comes with a new name: La Bruja de Rozas.
This single varietal Grenache produced by the Comando G winery is made from 30 to 80-year-old vineyards, coming from three estates at 900 metres of altitude located in an area called Las Rozas de Puerto Real, belonging to the increasingly well-known Sierra de Gredos.
Each plot was separately harvested and vinified. Fermentation and maceration took place in wooden vats, with indigenous yeasts and gentle macerations. Once this red wine from Madrid was blended, it was aged for 9 months in wooden vats.
Aerate the wine 30 minutes before drinking.

Expressive, lively and delicate, this red wine from Gredos smells of red berries, flowers and spices, over a delicate background of dimly toasted aniseed, fennel and mineral. The nose feels free, expansive, and pure.
Amazingly fresh and nicely textured, with a medium body which exhilarates the palate with remembrances of wild berries, aromatic herbs and some toasted and floral nuances. Crisp and linear, with delicious tannins and a superb acidity. This wine by Comando G has a long finish with some mineral and balsamic remembrances.

Arguably the best vintage thus far, this Grenache from Madrid delivers amazing quality for money. Enjoy La Bruja de Rozas 2016 with meat, cheese or without food.
