An homage to the English travellers who visited Málaga and Ronda back in the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries and praised their colourful beauty, La Encina del Inglés ("The Englishman's Holm oak") is named after one traveller that left a lasting impression on the region.
The grapes come from vineyards farmed following minimal intervention techniques and located at altitudes between 600 and 900 metres above sea level.
Harvested by hand, each grape variety was meticulously vinified in stainless steel tanks.
Then this red wine from Ronda (Málaga) produced by the Finca La Melonera winery was aged for 3 months in untoasted French oak barrels.
Drink La Encina del Inglés 2014 from the Málaga Mountains over the next 2 years.
The red wine La Encina del Inglés has a medium cherry-coloured robe with some ruby and violet glints.
This red wine from Málaga suggests some fresh, intense notes of red berries, Mediterranean undergrowth and dry earth over a mineral background subtly nuanced by a spicy touch.
Fresh and pleasant, this red wine by Finca La Melonera is smooth textured and palate coating. Wild berries and deep mineral suggestions. Crisp acidity, mild tannins and a medium finish with remembrances of liquorice and aromatic herbs.
