The wine La Encina del Inglés Blanco is the tribute of the Finca La Melonera winery to the Grand Tour English travellers who, during the 18th and 19th centuries, visited Andalusia and immortalised a picturesque image of the region in their writings and their paintings.

Dry, fresh and fruity, this Spanish red wine made from a blend of two little-known native varieties - Moscatel Morisco (70%) and Doradilla (5%) -, alongside the well-known Pedro Ximénez (25%).

Located in the andalusian region of Málaga, and belonging to the DO Sierras de Málaga, the vines grow on small terraces protected by centenary holm oaks at an altitude between 600 and 900 metres above sea level.

The grapes were picked by hand and underwent a careful winemaking process in stainless steel tanks to preserve its special qualities.

Drink La Encina del Inglés Blanco 2017 until 2021.

Additional Information

The wine La Encina del Inglés Blanco shows a clean, pale, waxen colour with some yellow tinges.

This original white wine from Sierras de Málaga is expressive and subtly sweet. Well defined, the nose prominently shows Mediterranean fruit - ripe peaches, watermelon, and apricots - with a tad of citrus and, in the background, some notes of aromatic herbs.

This white wine by Finca La Melonera is easy to drink, fresh and elegant, with a supple body, a distinctive personality and a mouthwatering acidity. This blend of native grapes has a gentle finish with notes of lime, aromatic herbs and a salty touch.
