This single varietal Grenache is crafted by the Viñedos del Jalón winery.
Selected on site and in the cellar, the grapes were cold-soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Malolactic fermentation was carried out in 2nd year French oak barrels. Afterwards, Las Pizarras 2011 was aged for 11 months.
Drink until 2019.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
Loads of red fruit and ripe black fruit. Some balsamic nuances, notes of exotic spices, dim mineral undertones and some smokey touches.
Smooth and round, polished by the years in the cellar. Mild tannins, excellent acidity and long finish with remembrances of liquorice, wild berries and some mineral notions.

This Garnacha born in slate soils feels super authentic, intense and deep. Minerality is very present and it gives the wine a special touch.
