Les Comes d'Orto is a red wine from Montsant crafted following a philosophy of minimal intervention by the respected winemaker Joan Asens.
The grapes come from vines planted in different plots with soils composed of limestone, clay and gravel.
The vineyards are 40 to 70 years of age.
After a traditional vinification, with long periods of maceration with the skins, the wine was aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels.

Les Comes d'Orto has a bright, medium cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
This Crianza red wine from Montsant by winemaker Joan Asens smells of prystine wild berries, liquor-infused cherries, toast, spices, balsam, some mineral undertones and notions of undergrowth.
This blend of Grenache, Samsó and Ull de Llebre by Orto Vins is bold, intense and meaty. It displays prominent notes of red fruit, amarena cherries, balsam, flowers and some smokey nuances. Good structure, ripe tannins, tense acidity and a long, mineral finish.

John Asens is a great winemaker, and this wine certifies it. I like this Montsant very much.
This is a very gentle and pleasing wine. Not overextracted or overoaked, it keeps a great balance and lingers long in your palate.
