Details

As customary, the new vintage of Les Sorts Jove is crafted following the carbonic maceration technique. A process seldom used to produce blends, it allows for a greater aromatic and colouring intensity, as the grapes are not crushed prior to fermentation.

This young Spanish red wine from Montsant is made from a blend of Grenache, Samsó (Carignan) and Syrah, coming from the youngest vines owned by Celler El Masroig.

Carefully harvested, the grapes were put in steel tanks filled with carbon anhydride. Because of the weight, the grapes placed at the bottom began to crush, releasing their must and thus starting the fermentation process.

After that, Les Sorts Jove 2018 was fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottled after a gentle percolation.

We suggest that you drink this young red wine from Montsant over the next 18 months. Serve it slightly cool.

Additional Information

Appearance

The wine Les Sorts Jove has a bright red colour with some purplish tinges.

Nose

Lively and fragrant, this carbonic maceration red wine suggests some intense aromas of juicy fruit, along with some creamy notes, some lactic touches and some spicy notions over a dim herbaceous background.

Palate

Light and scintillating, this young red wine by Celler Masroig exhibits some well-balanced notes of red fruit and flowers, a delicately fizzy character, a great freshness, and very good acidity. Pleasant, uplifting finish.
