Made from over 30-year-old Tinta del País complemented with Merlot, both coming from a single estate, Finca La Colorada, López Cristobal Crianza is a Spanish red wine produced by the Bodegas López Cristóbal winery.
Carefully selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the grapes were meticulously vinified and aged for 12 months in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels 1 to 3 years of age.
After that, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was bottled and aged for a further 12 months in the cellar prior to its release.
Drink López Cristóbal Crianza from now until 2022.
The red wine López Cristóbal Crianza has an intense, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a purplish rim.
This Spanish red wine from Ribera del Duero suggests some clean, elegant aromas of ripe red fruit, combined with notes of blackcurrants and blackberries, and punctutated by remembrances of toast, sweet spices, smoke and balsam.
This blend of Tinta del País & Merlot by the López Cristóbal winery is savoury and well-balanced, showing distinctive notions of spices, wild berries and toast over a mineral background. Mild tannins, good acidity and long, smokey finish.
|Our personal opinion||
From Ribera del Duero, López Cristobal Crianza 2014 truly honours its land of origin. The 5% Merlot gives the wine a rounder character.

Excellent value produced by a winery which deserves congrat for keeping prices reasonable while delivering high quality.
Here the thrust of Ribera del Duero's Tempranillo is adequately rounded by a brush-stroke of Merlot. The final picture is extremely enjoyable.
