Loxarel Gran Elisenda Brut Nature 2011 is a Catalan sparkling wine labelled as Clàssic Penedès
Formerly known as Loxarel Gran Reserva Brut Nature, this new product of the Masia Can Mayol winery is made from vines farmed following the guidelines of organic and biodynamic agriculture.
The vineyards are located in the Ordal mountains, at a straight line distance of 14 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were traditionally vinified following the Champenoise method.
Once secondary fermentation was completed, the wine was aged in the cellar for 30 to 36 months.
Being a Brut Nature, no additional sugar was added to the wine after the disgorgement.
Drink now until 2020+.
Bright straw yellow colour with some golden tinges.
Notes of white fruit, apples and citrus, nuanced by aromas of aromatic herbs, lees, butter and pastry. On the background, some hints of toast and white flowers.
Smooth and fresh, with a distinctive acidity and a remarkable tension. Bubbles are well integrated, and the wine shows rich notes of flowers, herbs, citrus and pastry. Long finish.
