This Spanish sparkling wine, Loxarel Gran Reserva Familiar Brut Nature 2009 by Masia Can Mayol winery is made in Vilobí del Penedès, wich is inside of the Alt Penedès and It belongs to the new distinction Clàssic Penedès.
This Grand Reserve Brut Nature is crafted from a coupage of this winery´s own Chardonnay, Xarel-lo, and Macabeo grapes. This sparkling wine was aged in dark cellars with “Rima” rotations between 42 and 48 months. The disgorgement process was realized in small batches according to which bottles the enologist thought were ready first so that the end resulting cava achieved the highest quality possible.
|Appearance||This catalan sparkling wine, Loxarel Brut Nature, has a clean and bright appearance with a pale straw-yellow colored body and golden edges. This cava from Penedès has medium sized effervescence that are persistent and rise to form a noticeable crown.|
|Nose||Elegant and delicate aromatics from its crianza ageing. There are divine notes of fine lees alongside fragrant baked fruits and pastry notes. Has tertiary aromatics of minerals and nuanced chalky notes.|
|Palate||An elegant and delicate sparkling cava that is well-balanced and ripe. There is a subtle expression of white fruit jams that are entwined with nuanced citric notes that provide for pleasant creaminess on this palate. In addition to the bakery notes that are nut flavors that are persistent alongside chalky sensations. The carbon of this cava is very well-integrated and has well-balanced acidity. There is a persistent finish that is silky and leaves and delicate aftertaste that is slightly bitter.|
